GLR3000 Series
The newly redesigned GLR3000 series is GL's entry level bridge/router for DS3/E3, BGP, and demanding Ethernet applications. The new GLR3000 provides a 1U 19-inch steel rack mount chassis with embedded main board, high-performance memory, reliable flash storage, six 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports, and two PCI expansion slots.
Each onboard GigE port has a dedicated x1 PCI Express bus for high throughput in demanding applications with pure VoIP and other small packet traffic. With the optional dual core CPU upgrade and GL Linux version 4.4 or later, the new GLR3000 can forward over 1,000,000 PPS, which is up to 10 times faster than the previous design.

The PCI expansion slots accept network cards with Ethernet, sync serial, T1/E1, DS3/E3, analog FXO/FXS, BRI, PRI, and 56K dial-up interfaces. With these add-on cards, the GLR3000 can connect different data and voice networks using a wide range of communications standards.
The base GLR3000 is guaranteed to route two DS3/E3 circuits at wire speed, 16 T1/E1 circuits at wire speed, or more than 100 Mbps full duplex with 64-byte packets over Ethernet. With the optional CPU upgrade, the GLR3000 can deliver up to 70% higher Ethernet throughput with VoIP traffic, and over 6 Gbps aggregate or 3 Gbps full duplex with large packets.
The GLR3000 takes advantage of the GL Linux™ bridge/router distribution, which provides support for NAT firewall security, IPsec and SSL virtual private networks (VPNs), quality of service (QoS), VoIP Gateway and SoftPBX, lawful intercept including CALEA, VLAN tagging, VRRP for LAN failover, dynamic routing, packet filtering, bridging, peer-to-peer traffic control, DSL aggregation, link bonding, Powercode OSS, and Netsweeper Web filtering. With the optional hard drive, the GLR3000 also supports Web caching and voicemail.
GL Linux also includes the Inetics platform, which provides a tightly integrated Linux kernel, management software, and the Inetics Driver Component Architecture (IDCA). IDCA supports WAN protocols including PPP, Cisco HDLC, frame relay, ATM, and SoftCell™ ATM and IMA. Inetics also makes it easy to troubleshoot LAN and WAN connections by providing real-time port status and performance monitoring.
The GLR3000 can be used by service providers at the network core, edge, or customer premise. Businesses can deploy the GLR3000 as an Internet gateway or WAN bridge/router with firewall security, VPN support, and VoIP gateway/SoftPBX services. The GLR3000 delivers superior performance and reliability in a low-cost 1U package that can be used where most Cisco 2800, 3800 and 7200 series routers are used. The GLR3000 is GL's lowest cost bridge/router for high-speed multi-homed networks, DS3/E3 premise installations, and many other midrange networking applications.

| * Wire-speed performance is specified following the methods outlined in RFC 2544 with a packet size of 512 bytes. Wire-speed performance is measured in the laboratory, and real-world performance may be affected by line conditions, interconnected equipment, and the router's hardware and software configuration. |
